Welcome!
You have found Room 248's website! This class web site is a creative way of getting students and parents excited about a subject, or keeping them up to date on assignments, as well as providing them with valuable online resources. Because a class site should be engaging, I'll present information that makes the subject interesting and fun, such as brain teasers or current events. Of course, include links so students can explore a wealth of ideas on the web.

GET TO KNOW YOUR TEACHER!
Hi, I'm Mr. Bender |
|
Welcome to our site. I would like to let you know a little about myself. I have had other jobs other than teaching and I have lived other places other than Connecticut but I suppose I should start at the beginning. I was born in Laconia, New Hampshire and moved to Canterbury, Connecticut when I was very young, about three years old. That is where I grew up. Most of you have probably never heard of Canterbury it's out in the woods so I had lots of fun growing up.
I went to college in Connecticut and worked the summers in construction. When I met my soon to be wife we decided to move to Arizona! Crazy as it sounds we drove our moving van out to Lake Havasu, Arizona and lived there for two years. I worked in construction and my wife taught on an American Indian Reservation where I substituted in the winters.
We decided to move back to Connecticut and bought a house in Hartford where we both started teaching! And well, you know the rest. I love to watch a good movie and even some bad ones. I enjoy all sorts of music and love to read books, non-fiction and fiction. I also enjoy taking pictures. Now you know a little more about me; it's probably more than you wanted to know but, too late! |
